How does it work?
Collagen and elastin make up the support structure in our skin. As we age, that support structure weakens, forming wrinkles. Pulses of laser light reach deeply into the skin’s sub-layers, treating the ageing support structure. Then the body’s natural healing process sweeps away older, damaged tissue and rebuilds it with fresh, new collagen and elastin—the crucial building blocks of smooth, youthful skin. Skin tightening is promoted through tissue coagulation.
Am I a good candidate for this procedure?
If you have an uneven complexion, with fine lines, open pores or pigmentation you may be a good candidate for a laser revitalisation treatment.
How long does it take?
The procedure can be performed in as little as 20 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.
Does it hurt?
The clinician will do everything possible to make this a comfortable experience. Most people will experience a slight prickling and your skin will feel warm.
How many treatments will I need?
Results can often be seen after the first treatment but, the best results are achieved after 3-4 treatments, with 4 weeks between treatments. Cell renewal leading to skin repair will continue for 6 months after a course of treatment. For maintenance, once every 6 months is recommended.
How quickly will I recover?
The area treated will initially appear red, but this starts subsiding after 3 hours and has usually resolved after 24 hours. Most people resume regular activities immediately following the treatment session. Make-up can be applied immediately after, if necessary.
